Europium iodide is a kind of iodide of europium. The chemical formula is EuI3. The appearance of europium iodide is a yellow or grayish-green powder or polycrystalline block. It is easy to dissolve in water and acid, and it easily absorbs moisture. Therefore, it should be kept in an airtight condition.
Europium Iodide Applications
Europium iodide can be used to prepare scintillation crystals. Europium doped strontium iodide (SrI2: Eu2 +) crystal is an excellent scintillation material.
