Praseodymium Metal Introduction
Praseodymium metal is a soft, silvery, malleable, and ductile metal, valued for its magnetic, electrical, chemical, and optical properties. It is too reactive to in natural form, and pure praseodymium metal slowly develops a green oxide coating when exposed to air. To protect praseodymium for this reaction, praseodymium is usually stored in a sealed plastic container or covered with oil. Praseodymium also reacts quickly with hot water to form praseodymium hydroxide. Praseodymium metal tarnishes slowly in the air and promptly burns at 150 °C to form praseodymium (III, IV) oxide.

Praseodymium Metal Applications
1. Praseodymium is used in goggles to protect the eyes of welders.
2. Praseodymium, combined with neodymium, is used to create high-power magnets due to its strength and durability.
3. When alloyed with magnesium, praseodymium creates a high strength metal used in aircraft engines.
4. Praseodymium is also used to color cubic zirconia yellow-green, to simulate the mineral peridot.
5. Praseodymium oxide can be used as oxidation catalysts.
Packaging of Praseodymium Metal
1. Packed in iron drums, lined with a single layer of plastic bags and protected by argon, each barrel weighs 50kg or 250kg.
