Ytterbium Fluoride

Ytterbium Fluoride (YbF3), also known as Ytterbium trifluoride, is a crystalline ionic compound. It is a water-insoluble Ytterbium source for oxygen-sensitive applications, such as metal production and fluoride glass. Fluorides are also commonly used in alloy metals and for optical deposition. Ytterbium is applied to fiber amplifiers and fiber optic technologies and in lasing applications. Ytterbium Fluoride Powder is an important colorant in glasses and porcelain enamel glazes. It has a single dominant absorption band at 985 in the infrared useful in silicon photocells to convert radiant energy to electricity. Ytterbium Fluoride is usually immediately available in most volumes. Ultra-high purity, high purity, submicron, and nanopowder forms can be considered.
We produce too many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade), ACS, Reagent, and Technical Grade. Food, Agricultural, and Pharmaceutical Grade. Optical Grade, USP, and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia) and follows applicable ASTM testing standards. Typical and custom packaging is available. We further provide additional research, technical, and safety (MSDS) data.

Ytterbium Fluoride Applications

Ytterbium fluoride can be used in infrared low refractive index materials, laser crystal materials, fiber doping, and so on.
