Gadolinium Metal Introduction
Gadolinium metal is a silvery-white, soft, and malleable rare earth metal with rare superconductive and magnetic properties. It is relatively stable in air. Gadolinium metal has unique metallurgic properties. Just 1% gadolinium can improve the workability and resistance to high-temperature oxidation of iron, chromium, and related alloys. As a metal or salt, gadolinium has an exceptionally high absorption of neutrons, and therefore it is used for shielding in neutron radiography and in nuclear reactors.

Application of Gadolinium Metal
The rare earth metal gadolinium is mainly used in permanent magnet, magnetic cooling material, nuclear reactor control material, and the production of phosphor, infrared generation equipment and laser equipment, and atomic energy industry.
